Your Questions, Answered

  • Honestly, I hear this almost every time — and it's never been a problem. Posing doesn't come naturally to most people, and I'm not here to make you feel like it should. What I focus on instead is what is natural to you: the way you two are together. I'll give you prompts, ideas, and plenty of direction throughout, so you never have to wonder what to do! You just focus on each other, and I take care of the rest.

  • I spend half of the day in the background, documenting things as they naturally happen. A lot of emotion is captured exactly during those times.

For portraits, I take charge with a lot of direction and prompts that open up your personalities so that the photos reflect who you truly are. We will also mix in a few fun, editorial poses (let instagram go crazy!)

  • Yes. I shoot on 35mm film and mix it in throughout the day, choosing the medium based on what each moment calls for.

  • Yes, and I love them. They're a great way for us to get comfortable with each other before the wedding day, and they're included in some collections.

  • Both my camera and my second shooter's camera use dual memory card slots, so everything is backed up in-camera as we shoot. After the wedding I copy everything onto two separate hard drives and a cloud backup. Your photos are as safe as they can be.

  • You'll receive a small set of previews within a week of your wedding — a few favorites to relive the day while it's still fresh. Your full gallery follows within 10 weeks, delivered as a private online gallery you can download, share, and order prints from. Engagement sessions are typically ready within 3-4 weeks.

  • I don't shoot to a set number — my aim is to give you every image that tells the story of your day. For a full wedding that usually comes to around 1,000 images, depending on the length and scale of your celebration, and engagement sessions average about 120. If a frame captures something real, it makes it into your gallery.

  • Absolutely — destination weddings are some of my favorites, and travel is included in my destination collections. The final cost always depends on the details: where you're headed, how many days I'll be there, and the scope of your coverage. You'll find my collections here, and once we connect on a call, I'll put together a customized quote made just for your day.

  • The best way to secure your date is to reach out early — I take on only a limited number of weddings each year, and dates are reserved on a first-come basis. Once we've connected and it feels like the right fit, your date is held with a signed contract and a retainer — typically 30% of your collection. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding. Until both are in, the date stays open to other couples, so if you're feeling sure, it's worth locking in sooner rather than later.
